CORONAVIRUS

Posted on 15 April 2020

The Coronavirus pandemic dominates so much of our lives, whether on the social or on the work front and will continue to do so for many months if not years to come. Our sector is in the thick of it. It may not seem to so on the surface but so much of our output goes into the supply chain for essential end products and services, from the medical and pharmaceutical sector, transport, energy and food supply.  One member for example manufactures seals, gaskets, O-rings etc. for the food industry, chemical processing and transport, medical equipment, laboratory equipment and diaphragms for respirators

In these trying times BRPPA stands ready to do what it can to help the sector – and this applies whether companies are members or not. We all need to work together to get the sector through the crisis and these means helping each other come what way.

Companies will of course wish to stay informed on the latest Government action and guidance on Covid-19. We are directly plugged into the Whitehall machine on this. We shall continue to disseminate the main points from their communications as quickly as possible. If you have any particular problems or issues that you would like to have advice from Government on please do not hesitate to get in touch with us and we shall do our best to get our contacts in Government to provide you with answers. We also link up with fellow associations through the Alliance of Chemical Associations, which can also act as a useful source of intelligence and a medium for making more general representations to Government.
