Green light for Braskem’s renewable polyethylene

Brazilian petrochemical major Braskem, a leading biopolymer producer, and Resin Trade, an international polymer distributor, have signed a partnership to distribute ‘green’ polyethylene in the UK.The ‘I’m Green Polyethylene’ grade is made from sugarcane ethanol, a 100% renewable material, according to Resin Trade.

“Braskem is very pleased to extend its green polyethylene distribution network with Resin Trade for the UK market,” said Marco Jansen, Braskem’s renewable chemicals commercial director for Europe and North America.

“We are confident that with Resin Trade, with their knowledge and expertise of Braskem’s products and the UK market, we have a valuable distribution partner to serve our customers.”

To help consumers recognise the ‘green’ plastic, Braskem has created the “I´m green” seal, which guarantees the renewable origin of the plastic, explained the company
